Olivier Merlin, grower for all situations

Mâcon la Roche-Vineuse, Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, even Saint-Aubin, not to mention his Mâconnais and Beaujolais reds, all equally excellent. Olivier Merlin has mastered them all, and his wines all have that wonderful balance between richness and freshness. Like many a top wine-grower, Olivier is a worrier, and this saves him from what has been the downfall of some who think they have made it - the idea that their wines are good enough. Our 2004 selections recognise his exceptional qualities.

 

This great specialist in white Mâconnais wines, Mâcon, Pouilly-Fuissé and Saint-Véran, here demonstrates his masterful versatility, This Remilly from bought-in grapes amounts to just two pièces or some 600 bottles.

Premier cru blanc en Remilly (3 bunches)

Supple, unctuous, almost fat, this Saint-Aubin is all that bottled sunshine should be and yet has its own classic distinction and an honest-to-goodness delicacy.
